Pre Session: Markets may open flat amid weak Asian cues

The Indian benchmark indices are set to open flat on Friday amid weak cues from other Asian peers.
The Asian markets have opened on a lower note as ongoing concerns over global trade frictions dampened sentiment, while Wall Street closed higher in the previous trading session as technology and other growth sectors rebounded.
On the economy front, the markets may react to a report that fiscal deficit for the current financial year will be maintained at 3.3 percent of the GDP and the fiscal consolidation of the country is as per the commitment.
On the IPO front, HDFC Asset Management Co. Ltd, the country’s largest mutual fund, on Thursday received Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (Sebi) approval to float an initial public offer (IPO).
Flat trends in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for June delivery, which were trading at 10,591, up by 16.50 point.
