* AUTOMOBILE: The power ministry may come out with draft regulations and policies on infrastructure for charging electric vehicles by end of March, Minister R. K. Singh said. Energy Efficiency Services will float a tender on Thursday to buy 10,000 electric cars to provide cleaner mobility services to various ministries and the central and state government enterprises, Managing Director Saurabh Kumar said.

* AVIATION: The process of sale of Air India is likely to begin with the airline arm first being put on the block.

* ECONOMY: The government will get close to 10 bln rupees from the initial public offering by Bharat Dynamics, bids for which open Mar 13-15, and is likely to get another 3 bln rupees from the public offer by Mishra Dhatu Nigam by the end of March. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said the government remains committed to providing the monetary equivalent of a special category state to Andhra Pradesh amid reports of Telugu Desam Party threatening to pull out of the National Democratic Alliance.

* ENERGY: Greenko, backed by Singapore's GIC and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, is close to striking a deal to purchase wind and solar energy producer Orange Renewables for an enterprise value of about $1 bln.

* GEMS: The data showing a fourfold surge in Apr-Nov imports of diamonds was erroneous as consignments returning after exhibitions abroad were entered as inbound shipments, said Colin Shah, vice chairman of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council.

* INFRASTRUCTURE: The National Highways Authority of India is likely to invite bids for the second batch of road projects under toll-operate-transfer model by the end of April.

* REGULATORY: The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to take a decision soon on extending the deadline for linking Aadhaar number with various services including bank accounts and mobile phone numbers along with linking it to various social security schemes. The Securities and Exchange Board of India has re-constituted its committee that suggests roadmap for developing corporate bond market in the country.

* STEEL: The lenders to Essar Steel may meet soon to discuss the proposals submitted by ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel and a consortium led by VTB Group as time is running.

* TELECOMMUNICATION: Vodafone India has partnered with Samsung India Electronics to give special offers for customers who buy the South Korean company's Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ phones. Bharat Sanchar Nigam has invited bids to set up over 5,000 WiFi hotspots across four zones-Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Kolkata, West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar, Assam and North East I and II zones.
